SUPERDETAILING A WALTHERS BLAST FURNACE PART 2: The second part of the series shows how to convert the Walthers Blast Furnace into specific prototypes, specifically the top works of USS Carrie #7 furnace in Pittsburgh and USS Ensley in Birmingham, Alabama. Three-pass stoves, the type with smokestacks on the top, are made from Walther's stoves and the Walthers Electrostatic Precipitator is highly detailed with the correct piping. Interlake Iron's "Zenith Furnace" merchant iron blast furnace is also created from scratch using a RIX oil storage tank, including three-pass Whitwell stoves and a Walthers stove. Again the presenter is Jeff Borne. The 95-minute DVD video has an accompanying self-starting CD-ROM, that is like looking at a book on a computer (PC& Mac), with 385 photos, construction instructions on building the models and parts lists for each project in Adobe Acrobat format.
